The project „ecoloft“ is a prototype of a new architectural typology in south east asia which combines an urban way of life in the middle of a scenery golf course. A mix between loft, townhouse, and serviced apartment and duplex condo.
The project is located in a so called “supertown“ in the outskirts of Jakarta (indonesia). One of the important topics was to maximize the land use, although the typology of townhouses enables in generally not a very dense development. The second main Idea behind this project study was to develop a new sustainable concept for the climate and context of southeast asia. This resulted to the “ecotool“, a standalone sustainability tool for residential real estate developments in south east asia.
The elevated design helps reduce heat and humidity and a minimal footprint allows landscaping and use of borders and trees to help enhance natural cooling. All facades are thermally insulated and double-glazing is used for all windows.
Photovoltaic panels in the roof capture electricity and solar thermal water heating systems are another energy efficient aspect for each unit.
A vertically organized duplex condo with private carport and rooftop terrasse for each unit.
ecotool
ecoloft has been conceived using “ecotool“ – for a sustainable life style in the heart of Southeast Asia – in context, in performance and in impact. ecotool system is based on three aspects:
Context – Passive Energy Performance
Preserving and adequate handling as well as usage of existing resources.
Usage – Active Energy Performance
Reduction and optimization of required building energy.
Building – Static Building Performance
smart concepts and appropriate constructions, “form follows climate and function”
